DAY 15 - DAY SEVEN ON BOARD THE CRYSTAL SERENITY

A LOOK AT WHAT IS HAPPENING TODAY

INDOOR CYCLING✔ WORLD CRUISE MEET & GREET CRYSTAL SOCIETY RECOGNITION RECEPTION

When we dined at Tastes two night ago we had mentioned that there are three living walls.  We thought we would include a photo of one of them.

Since we were not dining until 8:30 PM last evening, we watched a movie in our room on DVD which we had gotten at the Library titled White House Down.  We also enjoyed some popcorn, thanks to Butler Vincente.

As we were leaving our room we spoke with our Stewardess Lungar.

We had a wonderful time at Prego last night to celebrate good friend Bob's Birthday.  In addition to the two of us and Bob and Glo also included in the birthday dinner celebration was the woman who is head of the Odyssey at Sea Art Program and her husband, with fellow guest Tom who we have known from other World Cruises and will be on for this World Cruise.

This was our first time to Prego since boarding the ship.  Prego is the Italian Specialty Restaurant offering an array of Italian Cuisine.

Before we seated and the other people arrived, we spoke for a few minutes with the executive chef for Prego.  It was very nice to catch up with him.

Everything was terrific including the conversation, food, service and the overall ambience of the dining room.

We each had the Caesar Salad.  We both ordered the Swordfish which was one of the two additional entrees that was not on the menu but was prepared just for last evening.  It was not only very tasty but it was cooked to perfection.

For dessert, we had a chocolate Birthday Cake and sang Happy Birthday to Bob.

All in all it was an absolutely wonderful evening and we were honored to be part of the Birthday celebration for Bob.

When we arrived back to the room, there was a vase with beautiful flowers on our coffee table.  There was a handwritten card from our stewardess from two years ago, Snea, welcoming us back to the Crystal Serenity.  Snea was a doll and her thoughtfulness and her kindness really touched our hearts.

We got to sleep later than normal for us since we had a late dinner.  We continued our trend of sleeping well.

Keith still got up relatively early and began his day with his morning workout in the Fitness Center.

Afterwards he did some laundry and also went to the Lido Cafe for coffee.  When Keith arrives to the Cafe it is considered the time for early bird coffee and then by the time he leaves it is all set up for the early risers continental breakfast.  He sits in a nice corner of the cafe and reads and writes while enjoying coffee.  Lido Deck Steward, Jun, helped Keith with the coffee.

We enjoyed breakfast in the room and right after breakfast Keith went to the Fitness Center for another Spin Class.  The class continues to be great.  The instructor, Michael, teaches an excellent class and he does push us which is one of the benefits of taking a group class.  The guests have all spun before except for one who has caught on very well.

A view of Fitness Director Michael.

This morning there were two lectures.  The first one was given by Dick Morgan who spoke about the United States Invasion of Panama.  This was an interesting topic to cover as we had sailed by Panama yesterday.

The second lecture was given by Olympian Peter Vidmar who we got to meet on the 2012 World Cruise.  He gives an inspirational talk based on his own experience training for the Olympics and then winning the Gold as part of the United States Gymnastics Team.  He talks about the keys to a perfect 10.

Later in the morning, we attended a Meet & Greet for those on this voyage who are also on the World Cruise.  There are 36 people doing the full World Cruise who are already on board the ship.  On the last night of this voyage there will be an on-board World Cruise Gala for each of us taking the full World Cruise which coincides with the World Cruise Gala which will be held in Beverly Hills for the vast majority of the World Cruisers who will be boarding the Serenity on January 18.  A fellow guest suggested that it might be nice to have the Meet & Greet to provide an opportunity to get to meet our fellow guests who are on the 2014 World Cruise.  Several of us already know each other from previous World Cruises but there were others who we had not yet met before.  Several of the officers and senior staff attended.  It was a really nice get together.

After the Meet & Greet, we went to the Lido Cafe to have lunch.  We each had a salad entree.

Afterwards, Keith played Paddle Tennis while Anne Marie went on the second one hour walk of the day.  It was a terrific day to play.  It was sunny in the afternoon after having rained earlier this morning and there was a nice breeze.

Later in the afternoon, Keith met up with good friend Bob while Anne Marie sat out on the verandah to read and to get some sun.

This evening we will be dining in the Crystal Dining room after two consecutive nights at other dining venues.

Afterwards, we will attend the Crystal Society Reception.  Once you complete your first Crystal Cruise you become a member of Crystal Society.  At these receptions they recognize selected guests who are celebrating a major milestone.

As we close today, we wanted to leave you with a thought about achieving your dreams and goals.

TODAY'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY............
