We have been asked about how the comments section works and a couple of you have mentioned you have not seen your comments. At the end of each post is a comments section. If you click on that you can post a comment. When you post a comment it is not instantaneous so you will not see it right away. Rather, we receive an e-mail and we then approved the comment. We do this because a few years ago someone evidently found our Blog site on their own, and left some inappropriate comments having nothing to do with us nor the subject of our Blog. Once we review the comments and approve them then they are posted on the specific post that you had posted the comments on in the first place and not necessarily the most recent post.
Should you have a question, we do not post our answer in the comments section. Rather, we copy your question and then write our answer and it is included on the tabs section found towards the top of the home page titled Ask Keith & Anne Marie. It is possible that Blogger which is the web based Blog Application we use for this Blog has problems from time to time and we don't see all comments but so far all we know is that we have seen many comments. We encourage you to leave comments if you care to do that.
Now, back to the adventure.
We had an absolutely wonderful time on the ship last evening. As we mentioned, last evening was Black Tie Optional with most people wearing formal attire. Just as you a pair a wine in many ways the cuisine on the Captain's Gala Dinner menu paired well with the way guests were dressed on the ship. It was simply elegant.
Before dinner, we listened to Pianist and Assistant Cruise Director Scott Mitchel play the piano at the Crystal Cove.
Speaking of food we dined in the Crystal Dining Room last evening. Often on formal nights we dine at the Specialty Restaurants other than the first formal night of each voyage. However, on this voyage we wanted to spend as many evenings as possible in the Crystal Dining Room so we were there last evening knowing that tonight we will have our on board World Cruise Gala and that will be in a different dining venue.
Since this is a special menu we are posting the menus from last evening.
Our Sommelier for last night only was Jiri who took great care of us last year. Jiri was assigned to us since Christian went home earlier yesterday. Jiri will be going home at the end of this cruise. We have had him many times for our Sommelier. He made a toast to us for the 2014 World Cruise.
We each began our meal with salads. Keith had his standing salad and Anne Marie had the Captain's Salad. The Captain's Salad is always very well made and last night was no exception as it included a wide range of vegetable and fruit items served over baby greens.
Anne Marie showing the Captain's Salad.
For our entree we each had Broiled Maine Lobster as we did on the first Formal night but this time we also shared the 72 Hours Prime Beef "Persille" so that we had Surf & Turf.
As best we know the first time the 72 Hours Prime Beef as was served on a Crystal Ship was last year on the World Cruise when it was one of two choices offered at one of the on board World Cruise dinners. The response was so positive from the guests that this item has been incorporated into the Captain's Gala Dinner. We eat red meat infrequently so this is one of the few times we will have the beef while on the ship.
A photo of our Surf and Turf.
For dessert Keith had some melon rather than berries and believe it or not he had some of the low fat Butter Pecan Yogurt and Anne Marie had the Sugar Free Vanilla Cream Swan.
After dinner we went to the Captain's Farewell Reception where we gave our best to the Captain and Cruise Director as they will be leaving the ship to go on Holiday the end of this voyage They will return following the World Cruise so we will see them in Southampton. We also spoke with some of the Senior Officers and some fellow guests.
When we arrived back to the room we set the clocks back one hour which is always great news. We also received instructions for disembarkation day. We will meet in one of the lounges at 9:15 AM on Saturday morning with all of the other guests who will sail on the next voyage. These guests are known as in-transit guests. We will then be escorted off the ship where we will go through immigration and customs. At that point we can either go into town or wait until the ship has been cleared, at which time we can return to the ship. We will do the latter.
We both slept very well last evening. The seas were relatively calm with the gentle rocking of the ship.
Keith was up first and worked out at the Fitness Center. Afterwards, he was back at the Lido Cafe to have coffee and to read and write. As he does each day, he brought coffee back to the room for Anne Marie.
Anne Marie walked for one hour before we had breakfast in our room. It was on the cold side so she walked inside the ship.
Keith attended the final Spin Class of this voyage. Like all of the other classes, Fitness Director Michael worked the class hard. This has been a great series and it was nice to complete it with most of the people who have been in class since the beginning. While at different levels, everyone worked hard and had fun. Keith has never seen a class work as hard on a ship as this one. Anne Marie was not the only person taking photographs today. One of the participants does the iron man triathlon and her husband also took photos of her and the class today.

Anne Marie had personal training with Fitness Director Scott.
In the morning we stopped by the Photo Shop to select some photos from this cruise. We had signed up for a package which included the choice of any ten photos and all of the photos are put on a thumb drive and we are given ownership to each photo.
The morning included two talks.
Dr. Freedman gave his final presentation of the cruise and this time it was on US Policy in the Middle East from George W. Bush to Barack Obama.
Gary Hunter shared a film about the International Ventriloquist Convention which was quite interesting.
Before we knew it, we went to Lunch at the Lido Cafe. The Cafe was the least busy it's been when we arrived but likely many guests were packing.
After lunch Keith played Paddle Tennis and Anne Marie walked for another hour and also she sat out a that pool. Again, there were less guests playing Paddle Tennis as the cruise is coming to an end but Keith still manage to play several games of doubles with the same people and then finally one game of singles against an officer. It was sunny on one side, shady on the other side and wind that kept changing direction. Anne Marie also sat out on the verandah and read.
Keith met up with good friend Bob and some other guests.
This evening we will attend the on board World Cruise Gala and we will include the details with tomorrows Blog.
