DAY 8 - SIXTH FULL DAY IN MIAMI

A LOOK AT WHAT IS HAPPENING TODAY:

A NICE WALK OVER TO THE PORT OF MIAMI✔ LUNCH AT EDGE STEAK & BAR
AN EVENING GET-TOGETHER WITH FRIENDS

We caught up with some additional reading and writing after we posted last evening and we also slept very well.

Once again, we enjoyed an early breakfast in our room and then we got ready to explore Miami for the last and final time of this pre-cruise stay.

Since the forecast for today called for rain showers beginning around Noon we decided to take a walk over to the Port Of Miami and we got an early start for our morning walk.  The weather was actually a little warmer than we expected so we didn't need the jackets each of us were wearing and took them off about mid-way into our walk.  It was breezy and overcast.

There were seven ships in port.

As we crossed the bridge on the left hand side there were six ships.

First we saw the fairly new Celebrity Refection Ship along with the Resorts World Bimini Super Fast ship.  The Bimini seems to be a one day cruise and mainly for those who want to enjoy their casino.

We then could see on our left hand side four additional ships beyond the Celebrity ship which you see on the left hand side.  They are: the MSC Divina, followed by two Carnival Ships (Liberty and Breeze),  and lastly the NCL Epic.

On the right hand side docked at Terminal J where the Crystal Serenity will likely be docked tomorrow was the Regent Seven Seas Navigator.

We then walked over to a nearby store to pick up a gifts for our stewardess and stewardess in training.  We continued to walk for quite awhile until we began to feel precipitation in the air at which time we decided we should return to the Hotel.  We walked eight miles.

The weather forecast was correct because shortly after 12:00 Noon it began to rain and was coming down fairly hard.

For lunch, we dined at Edge Steak & Bar which is the restaurant located on the lobby floor of the Hotel.  We each ordered a Quinoa Salad with Shrimp, Spinach and Small Cherry Size Tomatoes.  The key word was "Quinoa" and we did not realize that almost half the bowl was made up of Quinoa.  We could see that it was too much for us, and the waitstaff and the chef were very accommodating bringing us each another bowl of salad, without the Quinoa, and we just moved the shrimp and the tomatoes over to the two bowls of salad.  This photo shows the salad as it first arrived to the table.

We spent a good portion of the afternoon reading, writing and most importantly packing in preparation for transferring over to the Crystal Serenity tomorrow morning.

This evening we are meeting friends who live in Miami.

We are very excited about boarding the Crystal Serenity tomorrow and look forward to a wonderful adventure at sea.

TODAY'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY............
