DAY 41 - DAY THIRTY THREE ON THE CRYSTAL SERENITY

Before dinner we sat with friends John and Linda at the Crystal Plaza.  We also stopped by to the reception area.

With Joyce from Shore Excursions.

We enjoyed ourselves back at the Crystal Dining Room after being away for two evenings.  We had a great day and a great dinner as well.

Cruise Director Rick Spath came by our table to say hello.

We each began our meal with Salads.  Keith had this salad.

Anne Marie had the Butter Lettuce Salad which was accompanied by Grapes, Papaya, Tomato& Fried Cheese Balls.

We have to admit before we saw and tasted the entree we were not sure whether or not we would like this but it turned out to be very tasty.  We ear had the Ling Cod Fillet and it was accompanied by delicious items including Seafood Paella, Eggplant Confit * Grilled Mushroom Skewer.  We had discussed this and a few other entree with Head Waiter Bojan and in the end we decided to order it based on his recommendation which turned out to be perfect.

For dessert Keith had Strawberries and Anne Marie had a sugar-free Vanilla Ice Cream Puff.  It was delicious and Anne Marie gave a portion of it to Keith to try.

We slept well last evening between all of the exercise from yesterday as well as the gentle rocking of the ship.

Keith was back up early wanting to get some of his workout completed in preparation for our early arrival to Naha, Okinawa, Japan.

He made a short stop to the Lido Cafe as we had breakfast delivered to our room at 6:00 AM as we had early customs and immigration clearance as well as an early tour.

Sometimes things don’t always go as planned and that was the case today.  Although we had a tour planned for shortly after our arrival to Okinawa, Japan, Keith was under the weather today (upper respiratory virus) so for Keith’s sake and also to avoid in being in close contact with others we did not go on the tour nor go into port.

We ended up doing something we normally do not do.  Rest.

After we were cleared by customs and immigration we went up to the Lido Deck area where we were assisted by Head Waiter Sigi who brought over some hot tea for Keith.  Afterwards, we did go down to the Crystal Cove as our room was being made but sat at an area more secluded.  Some guests and crew stopped by but Keith quickly said he was under the weather so they would keep their distance.

Once our room was ready, Keith rest in bed for a good portion of the morning.  After having lunch, Keith sat out on the Verandah for a couple of hours, which again is something he rarely does.

Hopefully, he will shake this in about 48 hours.

We also wanted to mention that we did not have internet while in port and were in port due to Japanese regulations that impact the transmission medium used by Crystal to communicate with the satellite for internet.  We expect that this may continue thru January 15 so over the course of the next week there might be days when we do not post as well as days when we can post that we will keep what we write much briefer than usual with less photos too.

This evening we will dine at the Crystal Dining Room and will post more about that tomorrow.
