We dined at the Crystal Dining Room and had a very nice time.
Anne Marie was escorted into the dining room by waiter Ana who we often see and enjoys escorting Anne Marie to our table.
Head Waiter Bojan got into the act.
Early seating has been very full on this voyage with a wait-list but there were some tables available last evening and some were none fully occupied as passengers were likely eating at one of the three specialty restaurants or even in their own room.
We began our meal with Tuna TarTare which Headwaiter Bojan made for him. We had pre-ordered this the day before with Bojan and he made it for us table-side.
Anne Marie went with the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail. Both were terrific.
For our entree we each had the Swordfish which was accompanied with roasted purple potatoes and caramelized pineapple-green onion butter & relish. It was very tasty and we also shared peas and asparagus.
Surprise. We both had the same dessert which was a non-fat butter pecan frozen yogurt. It was just what the doctor ordered for Keith. LOL.
With Keith not feeling well, we did not consider going to the show after dinner. Instead, we just went to our room and we both read and wrote and went to sleep.
Keith went to sleep first and considering he is sick managed to get some good hours of sleep. The seas became quite choppy later into the evening.
He had not planned to exercise but when he awoke he did a short, thirty minute workout on the elliptical machine while catching up on the news at home.
About an hour later he made his way over to the Lido Cafe for some coffee. When he first arrived, he kidded around with one of the members of the night crew that it felt like the ship was dancing as we were moving around quite a bit. About fifteen minutes later Keith described the motion as an earthquake or begin on a train. It was pouring and very windy. That was not the end of the rough seas. More to follow.
As he always does, as he was leaving the Cafe, Keith got a takeout cup of coffee for Anne Marie and brought that back to the room for her. It was too rough for Anne Marie to walk so she worked on her needlepoint kit.
Rao brought our breakfast at the time he normally does and we enjoyed our breakfast while watching the Daily Morning Show.
Since today was a sea day there was lots on the schedule in terms of enrichment activities. Due to the rough seas some items were cancelled such as Dancing, Yoga, Pilates and the Fitness Center was closed. We have rescheduled Anne Marie's personal training class for tomorrow and we understand Spin Class has been rescheduled until tomorrow as well.
We went down to the Crystal Plaza where we spoke with several fellow passengers. One person told us that he is on Deck 10 and earlier this morning he opened up is slider door and and walked up on the Verandah and got soaked from the waves hitting the ship.
The Captain stopped by and on the map near where we were sitting he showed us the revised course he was sailing which will take us closer to the coast line but still well off in deep water but would allow for a somewhat smoother ride.
The two morning lectures were great. They were both moved from the Galaxy Showroom which is far forward to the Star Dust Lounge which is at the back of the ship. We went to both. The first one was given by criminal profiler Clint Van Zandt and he spoke about what the FBI files tell us about what happened to Aviatrix Amelia Earhart. It was quite interesting as he spook about the various theories about why she disappeared.
Following his talk, General Tony Zinni spoke about the Middle East in Crisis and how complicated the issues are.
We were very fortunate to have two excellent speakers this morning and throughout this first voyage of the World Cruise along with several other ones who we have enjoyed on this adventure.
A sea day brought the final game to Team Trivia for this leg of the World Cruise. We both played as one member of our team is prone to seasickness. Most team scores were on the lower than normal and we receive 9 1/2 points out of a total of 15. We were about five points before the first team. This was the final game of this segment. Tomorrow there will be some sort of special trivia which will be men versus women.
Because of the number of people and the fact that there are tables and chairs we had Team Trivia in the Palm Court. This is the most forward public room of the ship and on the highest deck so it does get a bit bumpy in that room. We would say that at times for a good portion of the day including Team Trivia that it felt like we were in heavy turbulence on an airplane but as they say this is part of the cursing experience. Thankfully it does not happen very often and that we are on a nice size ship.
After, Trivia we both enjoyed a nice salad entree for our lunch. We dined in our room which is more mid-ship.
In the afternoon we read, and wrote and we spent a couple of hours in the Crystal Plaza as it is a great location of the ship to be in when the seas are rough. Several people stopped by to chat.
For anyone wondering , there was no Paddle Tennis today. Someone asked Keith if he was playing and you know the answer.
This evening we are dining at Prego.
