We never got an embarkation photo from the day we boarded the Serenity on January 5 so we were able to get one taken on embarkation day of the last voyage in Hong Kong.
Two Photos From the World Cruise Shoreside Event which was held in Hong Kong.
With friends Jim and Judy who we first sailed with on the 2007 World Cruise. We also sat with them at the Singapore Shore Side Event.
Some photos from the on-board Carnival.
Keith with Golf Pro Joe Herbert.
We have added a few additional photos from yesterday when the two lovely and beautiful ships of the high seas were together in Singapore.
Crystal Symphony Silk Road.
Hollywood Theatre.
Avenue Saloon.
A view of the Crystal Symphony from the Crystal Serenity long after she docked.
This photo was around the time we first spotted the Symphony.
The sun was still rising.
Crystal Serenity Captain Birger and Crystal Serenity Photo Manager Jeremy each with Cameras in Hand.
The Crystal Symphony continues to make its way towards the port.
She makes turns to get into port.
As she gets closer, Captain Birger watches from a different vantage point.
The Symphony begins to go backwards to dock at the port.
As we mentioned, it was a wonderful day and one that we will remember for the rest of our lives.
Before dinner we sat at the Crystal Plaza. John and Linda we miss you already. For those of you following the purses, this was another new purse that we purchased for Anne Marie at Jim Thomspon.
It was nice to be back at the Crystal Dining Room for dinner
last evening. We went to note that one of the waiters who we know very well, Ana, has been promoted to Senior Waiter and we are very happy for her. Congratulations Ana. It is always so nice to see members from the crew as they move into increasing areas of responsibility.
The dining room was busy with additional guests on board and many choosing the dining room as many like us were at the World Cruise event the night before and even many embarking the ship in Singapore dined off the ship the first night or dined elsewhere.

We looked at the menu when we went to the buffet the night
before after arriving back to the ship from the World Cruise Shore Side event
and we asked Head Waiter Augusto if he could pre-order us another type of
seafood entrée rather than what was on the menu. We left it that Augusto would check with the
Chef and we would go with whatever the two of them decided.
We began our meal with Tuna Tartare for Keith and Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail for Anne Marie. We both enjoyed our appetizers and Augusto prepared a great one for Keith.

Our second course was salads and Keith had his standing order salad and Anne
Marie went with the Baby Spinach Leaves Salad.
For our entree we each had the Sea Bass which Head Waiter Augusto ordered for us with lots of side orders including peas and asparagus. The Sea Bass was very moist and cooked perfectly.
We did not have dessert since we went to a cocktail reception hosted by the head of our Travel Agency and one of the Travel Specialists who is our own agent. It was very well attended and we saw many guests we know there along with several senior officers.
After the reception, we went to the welcome aboard show. Yes, we have been on board for awhile but thought it would be fun to go and it was. The show feature dancing by Beverly and Curtis and song and dance by the Crystal Ensemble of Singers and Dancers.

We slept well last evening and for the first time in three
nights we actually were rocked to sleep as the Crystal Serenity was at sea
after departing Singapore at around 6:00 PM.
Today is the first of many sea days on this segment of the
World Cruise as we travel from Singapore to Cape Town.
Keith was up first and read and wrote and did a short workout at the Fitness Center. He eventually
made his way to the Lido Café for coffee.
Afterwards, he brought some back to the room for Anne Marie before the
two of us went on a one hour walk on the Promenade Deck. We saw lots of people who were walking and we walked with Elaine for awhile and also Keith walked with Roy for awhile. Roy joined the ship in Singapore after sailing on the Crystal Symphony.
This is the first of many sea days on this voyage. Rao brought breakfast to our room and since this was a sea day we watched the Daily Morning Show with Cruise Director Rick and World Cruise Hostess Stacey as we ate our breakfast. Rick noted that we have 12 different lecturers for this segment of the World Cruise.
Keith attended the first Spin (indoor cycling) Class of this voyage. Michael the Fitness Directors scheduled these classes this time around on all of the sea days so Keith will be going a lot of Spinning. This segment will also feature the World Games so there will be a lot of activity on top of a full schedule of enrichment activity. Other than Rosalinda who is also on the full World Cruise everyone else was new today. We had a very challenging workout.
Today featured a lot of activities.
In the morning, there was the sign up for the World Games. These games include many activities and not all of them are sports related. When you sign up for an activity you also receive a World Cruise Shirt and this is open for all guests. It is a lot of fun. We received a book in our room last night with all of the events scheduled and the dates/time of them and a writeup about the Olympian who will be part of these games. Anne Marie signed up for a couple of events and Keith signed up for several.
Ken Rees is back as the Destination Lecturer for the rest of this cruise and spoke about Indonesia since Jakarta is our next port of call.
Anne Marie also managed to attend the needle point get together.
While Anne Marie was in needle point Keith spoke with several guests and also chatted with Captain Birger for about ten minutes. The Captain has truly been remarkable and we appreciate the time he has taken from his busy schedule to chat with each of us.
Later in the morning was a mid-day mixer to celebrate the crossing of the equator. This should not be confused with us crossing for the second time the dateline as that will take place later on. We are still a day ahead of most of you. We will post photos from this event tomorrow. It was a lot of fun and we enjoyed a lot of laughs.
Today was also the first day of Team Trivia. We answered 11 of 15 questions correctly and we finished in second place to a team that got 12 answers correct.
We enjoyed another nice lunch which you guessed it was a Salad Entree.
Keith played Paddle Tennis in the afternoon and Anne Marie walked and then later on Anne Marie attended afternoon Yoga and Keith met up with dear friend Bob. It was quite hot outside and humid.
There was more on the schedule than we possibly could do and makes the day go fast and offers so much for us to enjoy.
This evening we will be dining in the Crystal Dining Room and a person we have sailed with on a couple of different voyages who just boarded in Singapore will be joining us for dinner.
We also have the Captain's Reception and the evening entertainment includes vocalist Christine Andreas who we have seen perform on past World Cruises who has a wonderful voice.
