DAY 75 - DAY SIXTY SEVEN ON THE CRYSTAL SERENITY

Some photos from the last segment of the World Cruise.

From the visit to the Officer's Quarters with World Cruise Hostess Stacey and Cruise Director Rick.

Late afternoon as we were arriving to Hong Kong.  Not a cloud in the sky which is very unusual for Hong Kong.

From the visit to the orphanage. Keith with Pianist John Mentis who also take video for the World Cruise DVD and also video used  for other videos produced by Crystal Criuses.

These are a couple of photos courtesy from our dear friend Bob taken at the World Cruise Shoreside Event in Singapore.

These are some photos from yesterday's equator ceremony.  The ceremony was held inside the Palm Court which worked out very well given how hot it was outside and the fact that when the pool is used it cannot be used for other purposes the rest of the day as it needs to be cleaned first.

Last evening was Black Tie Optional Night.  Before dinner we sat at the Crystal Cove and listened to John Mentis play the Piano. We sat with friend Ileen.

We then dined at the Crystal Dining Room.  Fellow friend Ilene joined us.  Ileen boarded the ship in Singapore. The theme of the dinner was the Captain's Gala Dinner.  One of the nice aspects of cruising is getting to know people and making long lasting friends.  We first met Ileen when she was on a segment of World Cruise 2008 and then sailed with her in 2012 when she was on for one of the Asian segments, and will sail with her not only on the current segment of the World Cruise but also on the final one.

We began the meal with Salads.  Keith had his standing order Salad and Anne Marie had the Captain's Salad.

For our entree, Anne Marie enjoyed her favorite entree which was the Broiled Maine Lobster and Head Waiter Augusto knowing many of Keith's dining preferences had pre-ordered Keith swordfish prepared butterfly style which he thoroughly enjoyed.

For dessert, Keith enjoyed the Mixed Berries and Anne Marie had the Sugar-Free Vanilla Hazelnut Mousse.  Dinner was a lot of fun.

After dinner the three of us went to the Captain's Reception.  We introduced Ileen to several friends and crew members and we enjoyed conversations with many people who we know.  Captain Birger gave a terrific talk, followed by the introduction of the Serenity Senior Officers.  Three of the five senior officers joined the ship in Singapore including the Vice Captain, Chief Engineer and Ship's Doctor.

When we got back to the room there was a letter from the Shore Excursion Department about our upcoming Safari including a date, time and location for a get together with those who will be on the overland with us.  At that meeting, we will receive a packet of information for the trip.

We slept well last evening as we sailed to Jakarta Indonesia.

Keith was up first and read and wrote.  Afterwards, he stopped by the Lido Cafe for Coffee.

On his way out he prepared some coffee for Anne Marie which she enjoyed in our room.  We then took one hour walk.  We began outside on the Promenade Deck and then when we realized that there might be a good deal of pollution we walked inside.

We decided to not go into Jakarta.  Given the medication that Anne Marie is on, we just felt that the shuttle ride and even being in town would not be a good idea for her.

After the ship arrived, some of the locals performed to welcome the ship.  There was music, dancing and a sign that said Welcome Crystal Serenity.  The sky was overcast and possibly some of the overcast was due to smog as we mentioned.

This is what you call an Industrial Port.

We enjoyed the ship the rest of the day.  We sat at the Crystal Cove and took the opportunity to speak with several members of the crew and to speak with fellow guests who also didn't go ashore.

Keith worked out in the Fitness Center and Anne Marie did some organizing in the room for our upcoming Safari.

We had a nice lunch in the Crystal Dining Room with Cruise Director Rick Spath.  It was wonderful to catch up with Rick.

In the afternoon, we both walked for quite awhile and Anne Marie worked out at the Fitness Center and Keith played Paddle Tennis for two hours.  It was hot and humid but a lot of fun.  There were only four players until one had to leave and one other showed up so other than water breaks there was no waiting around to play.

Tonight we are back in the Crystal Dining Room for the third consecutive night.

All in all it was another great day on the Crystal Serenity.
