DAY 93 - DAY EIGHTY FIVE ON THE CRYSTAL SERENITY

These are some photos from the last segment of the World Cruise taken by the professional photographers on board the Serenity. We have signed up for a special package that they offer which provides us with unlimited photos including not only the hard copy but also copies of each photo which is placed on a thumb drive and as part of this package we own the rights to each photo.

Dinner with friend Ileen.

World Cruise Shore Side Event in Singapore.

Awards Ceremony for World Cruise Games.

Keith playing Paddle Tennis in the World Cruise Games.

Last night was the Captain's Reception and the first Black Tie Optional Evening of the Cruise.  We dined at the Crystal Dining Room since it is a favorite of Anne Marie's on the first formal night.

We began the meal with Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail for Anne Marie and Tuna Tartare for Keith

For our entree Anne Marie had the fresh Maine Lobster.

Keith had the Broiled King Clip which came with Poached King Crab and Risotto.

Food & Beverage Manger Tayfun and Maitre d' Leo came to our table and we enjoyed several laughs with them.

We slept well last evening as we sailed to Walvis Bay.  We first visited this port of call in 2007.  The seas were calm and it made it easy to fall to sleep.

Keith was up first and worked out at the Fitness Center.  After his workout he went to the Lido Cafe for coffee and then brought some to the room for Anne Marie.  We then walked for about 30 minutes inside the ship.  We then enjoyed breakfast in our room and then walked outside on the Promenade Deck while the ship was making its way to the pier at Walvis Bay in Namibia.  We walked with friend Mary for a portion of our walk and we all spoke about our adventures during the Safari.  Mary's husband Stan was our escort for our Safari while Mary escorted another group on a Safari as well.

We originally had a shore excursion booked for today but decided to cancel it the other day.  We had actually taken a similar shore excursion when we arrived here in 2007.    We have found that it is important to pace yourself on such a long cruise and that includes Shore Excursions.  Whereas on a shorter cruise one might do a shore excursion in most ports, it really is not realistic to do this on a 120+ day cruise.

After our walk, we sat at the Crystal Plaza and we did some reading and writing.  We spoke with some guests such as dear Friends Bob and Glo who were going out on tour this morning and also some of the crew and Senior Officers including Captain Birger and also Crystal Society Hostess Jaque, World Cruise Hostess Stacey and Cruise Sales Consultant Paula Jean.

We then returned back to the room to watch the second half of the Movie The Butler which we started to watch on the same day that we arrived back to the ship from the Safari.

We enjoyed our usual lunch which was a Salad Entree and then Anne Marie walked on the Promenade Deck while Keith played three hours of pretty much non-stop  Paddle Tennis.

We read and wrote later in the afternoon and just made a nice day of it on the ship.

This evening we will be dining with Rabbi Morrie and his lovely wife Gerri.  We first had the pleasure of sailing with Morrie and Gerri on the 2007 World Cruise and have sailed with them on each succeeding World Cruise we have taken as well as a few other cruises.

TODAY'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY….
