This was done in two seatings and we attended the first seating.
Before dinner, we went to one of the lounges where cocktails and other drinks were served and then the entertainment team performed for us. They created the show on board the ship and other than the second performance that will be the only time it will ever be performed. As usual, the team was just magnificent and the show include humor and song.
The Event was called Ghana with the Wind. It was a recreation of the Civil War classic
and love story, Gone With The Wind but with a twist being in Ghana. The show was terrific. It had a lot of wonderful laughs and lots of great songs and dancing.
We then were assigned to either the Prego or Silk Road Specialty Restaurant. We received our dining assignments earlier in the day which included not only the dining venue but our table number.
Following the show we had dinner, which was appropriately
called Ghana with the Wind Dinner, and we were seated in Scarlett’s Place (aka
the Prego Specialty Restaurant).
When we went to our table, we had assigned seats designated with a name card place on the table designating where we should sit. Our table was hosted by the Vice Captain. Anne Marie sat next to the Vice Captain with Keith to her left and friends Judy and Jim were to Keith's left. We sat with two other couples; one whom we first met at the Singapore shoreside event when we sat at the same table.
The food was very special.
We began with Crab Cake.
Our next course was Sweet Corn Soup, but Keith was enjoying it so much that he did not take a photo of it. LOL.
For our entree we had a choice of Beef or Sea Bass and we both had the Sea Bass.

The waitstaff for this events includes members from Silk Road, Prego and the Crystal Dining Room and some of the Head Waiters from each area along with Maitre d of Specialty Restaurants Antonio and Maitre d' of the Crystal Dining Room Leo. It is a tremendous team effort from both the Entertainment Team and the Hotel Team along with members of some of the other areas who put together props for the event.
All in all it was a very special on board event and we thank the entire Entertainment Team and the entire Food and Beverage Team for making this a very special evening for all of us.

Later in the evening, Organist Hector Olivera performed at two shows; one at 8:45 PM and the other one at 10:30 PM. He dazzled everyone with his music. As we mentioned, if you close your eyes you will think that you are listening to an entire orchestra. Keith also plays Paddle Tennis with his wife, Levy. They are two very nice and very kind people. We look forward to seeing them both later this Fall on board the Serenity.
When we arrived back to our room, there was another very nice letter from World Cruise Hostess Stacey Huston with information about upcoming events. Stacey noted that the will be a Question and Answer Session with President of Crystal Cruises, Edie Rodriquez and Executive Vice President of Crystal Cruises, Thomas Mazloum the day following our arrival to Lisbon.

We slept very well last evening as we are now sailing to our next port of call in Darkar, Senegal. Keith was up first and once again he read, wrote and did a short workout at the Fitness Center before he went to the Lido Cafe for some coffee. The time that Keith is at the Cafe only a few guests are there and usually it is the same people. At the same time the Lido Deck Stewards and some of the Galley personnel are preparing for the breakfast. All of the food is actually prepared in the galley which is located on Deck 5 and it all has to be brought upstairs each and every day to the Lido Deck which is located on Deck Number 12. Many items are then placed at the various stations at the Cafe while some items are actually prepared at the Cafe. Similarly, even for venues such as the Trident Grill where hot dogs, hamburgers and other items including Salmon Sandwiches are served the food must be brought from the downstairs Galley up to Deck 12. The Trident Grill prep begins at around 7:00 AM so that lunch can served starting at 11:30 AM.
When Keith finished up at the Lido Cafe he brought coffee back to the room for Anne Marie and then we went on our one hour walk on the Promenade Deck. Afterwards, we enjoyed breakfast in our room thanks to Rao. We watched the Daily Morning Show starring Cruise Director Rick and World Cruise Hostess Stacey.
A few minutes before the show ended, Keith headed back to the Fitness Center to take another Spin Class. Including Keith only two people were in the class and today involved both speed as well as several climbs with a lot of resistance so it was another very challenging workout.
Anne Marie went to the beauty salon for her haircut.
Today, was sign up day for another round of Family Paddle Tennis where teams are comprised of a crew member and a guest. This is the first time this has been offered other than during the World Games so Keith signed up for this.

Today was the final game of Team Trivia before the second half game starts tomorrow and we did very well. We answered thirteen of fifteen questions
correctly and we won Team Trivia for the first half of this segment. We each
won two prizes. Also, on this morning’s
Daily Morning Show, Keith answered correctly one of the questions, which was to
name the first names of each of the Bee Gees so it was a good day for Trivia.
We also enjoyed another Salad Entree for lunch.
In the afternoon, Keith played Paddle Tennis and me up with dear friend Bob and Anne Marie walked for an hour and also went to Yoga.
As usual, there were countless activities on the schedule including three lectures. Susan Middleton spoke about West Africa, Tom DeFrank spoke about his experience covering nine Presidents of the United States from Lyndon Johnson thru Barack Obama and Sue MacGregor spoke about The Power of Radio.
This evening we will be dining at Prego.
