DAY 94 - DAY EIGHTY SIX ON THE CRYSTAL SERENITY

These are some photos from the last segment of the World Cruise.

Captain's Welcome Reception with friend Ileen.

Before dinner we sat at a table right next to Pianist John Mentis and listened to him play the piano.  He played a song for us.  Later on, we saw friend Ileen and sat with her.

We had dinner in the Crystal Dining Room.  Rabbi Morrie and his lovely wife Geri joined us for dinner.

We first met the Morrie and Geri on the 2007 World Cruise and since that time we sailed with them on the 2008, 2010, 2011 (partial), 2012 and 2013 World Cruises as well as on a couple of other sailings on the Crystal Symphony.  It was a lovely evening with the two of them. When we post about the Crystal Family, Geri and Morrie are part of our Crystal Family.

We began our meals with salads.  Keith had his standing order salad and Anne Marie had a spinach salad.

For our entree, Anne Marie had the Scallops and Keith had a Swordfish prepared butterfly style which Head Waiter Augusto had ordered for him.  He also tried a small potion of the Fresh African Pomfret Fish which was somewhat like Mahi Mahi.  Keith really liked both fist entrees.

For dessert, Anne Marie had blueberries and Keith had mixed berries.

We slept well last evening with the gentle rocking of the ship.

Keith was up early and began his day by reading and writing and then he stopped by the Lido Cafe for some coffee.  As he does each and everyday, he brought some coffee back to the room for Anne Marie and then we went on a one hour walk.

We then had breakfast in our room as we watched the Daily Morning Show with Cruise Director Rick and World Cruise Hostess Stacey.

Keith then tok the indoor Spin Class.  It was another really good class that pushed us which is always nice.   Today the songs changed from climbing to speed bringing the heart rate up and down and up and down.

Anne Marie stopped up there for a few minutes to take some photos and then she went to the Crystal Plaza where she spoke with some of the officers, other members of the crew and some guests. After Keith finished his class and changed he met up with Anne Marie at the Cove.

Anne Marie went to the Knitting get together where she worked on her third project while talking with some of the other ladies.

Keith caught one of the lectures on the television which was a talk given by Dr. Kathy Reiches about Forensic Antropology.  There were two other lectures.  Roman Pryjomko spoke about extraordinary Africa and Gavin Robinson spoke about Game Techniques in Southern Africa.

The World Cruise always features some very special entertainment that you will not see on most other voyages whether it is a special mid-day mixer or some additional evening entertainment.  Today, was an example of that.  Late morning featured a mid-day mixer and the Theme was Out Of Africa.  It included live music by the Galaxy Orchestra, as well as singing and dancing by the Singers of the Crystal Ensemble and dancing by Beverly and Curtis.  The Crystal Cove and Plaza were set decorated to the theme of this mixer.  The mixer was a lot of fun.

Following the mixer, Keith attended Team Trivia.  We ended up with ten out of fifteen.  The top team had twelve.  One team said they had fifteen but quickly followed it up by saying April Fools Day.

We enjoyed lunch and for us it was a nice salad entree.

In the afternoon, we each did what we normally do on sea days.  Keith played Paddle Tennis for a couple of hours.  The court was quite busy with both courts in use and players rotating in and out.  Later in the day met up with ear Bob and Anne Marie walked for one hour on the Promenade Deck and also went to the afternoon Yoga Session.

This evening we will be dining at the Tastes Specialty Restaurant with two of the Crystal Serenity Officer's.

It has been another very enjoyable sea day as we sail off the West Coast of Africa.

TODAY'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY….
